Cheap Solar Panels: How To Get Them
There are different places where you can purchase cheap solar panels. Checking the internet is a good place to start. There are always companies who are upgrading, discontinuing their current stock of panels. It’s good to check the units out thoroughly. Just because you’re purchasing a cheap unit doesn’t mean it’s the best buy. As with anything else, for the most part, if you purchase cheap, thre is a greater possibility that you will get a cheap or sub-performing product. That’s not to say that you shouldn’t check them out anyway.
The panels still work the same as though they were new ones. They still take in sun rays and use that in lieu of electric current. The current is run and connected to your home and batteries, if applicable. Even though these panels won’t cost as much as the new ones, they are still adaptable to the environment. These panels should be installed where there is plenty of sunlight.
Where Can You Find Them?
When you can find used solar panels, you can find some cheap ones as well. You can also check at online auctions for used ones that don’t cost a lot and may fit your budget. The auctions sell these panels that have been used in businesses and governments. You can also find these low priced panels at construction companies operated by the government. The ones that the government used get sold at auction for the most part. These are not recommended to use inside your home; however, they can be used for your RV, emergencies with your radio or telephone or for lights outside your home. Some sellers might give you more of a discount or a special deal if you purchase a set of panels. This may be beneficial for you if you are looking to purchase an entire set.
Refurbished Panels
Other panels you can purchase at low cost are refurbished ones. They work the same as the other ones, however, if you don’t understand how they work, you could be losing money instead enjoying what you purchased for a steal. You can purchase these type of panels on the internet, including at auctions. You can also get them at brick and mortar places.
If you’re technically inclined, you could purchase panels that are broken or barely operable. Then you would be able to rebuild them, especially if this is a hobby for you. Stay away from panels that have cracked glass or glass condensation. These flaws will not help you and you would have wasted your money. You can also choose to purchase older panels, but again you’re taking a serious risk.
The financial disadvantage from getting refurbished panels is that you would probably miss out on some governmental tax breaks. Several governmental agencies offers customers money in tax credits and discounts on units. There is a catch: you are usually required to purchase the unit new. Purchasing used or refurbished solar panels will knock you out of this deal. It’s better that you consider this when trying to buy cheap solar panels before you make a choice. You may be missing out on some good tax incentives from the government.
